City Progress Reports

Since 2020, the Right to Breathe Committee has been collecting feedback from Black people on their experiences as central evidence of the changes being made. Additionally we are doing assessments with all the participating municipalities to track their green, amber and red status in each of the domains. For more information on the nine domains click here.

While all Eastside cities received a call to action to engage with Leaders of Color to address the ongoing racial injustice in our communities. 7 months after the murder of George Floyd, only Kirkland, Bellevue, Redmond, and Issaquah chose to engage in sustained policy and implementation discussions centering the needs of Black people on the Eastside.

The Right To Breathe Committee calls on all local governments, school districts, service clubs, and business interests to engage in meaningful efforts to ensure safety and respect for Black people.
