Pursuing Black Joy

After hundreds of hours engaging directly with mayors, city managers, police chiefs, and other city officials, the RTB committee has shifted its attention, for now, to cultivating spaces to nurture Black joy. We are actively bringing families together for mutual celebration and uplift while bringing attention to ways that environments that claim to be supportive of Black lives can make those claims a reality.

The RTB Committee has been negotiating policy change in King County, since the murder of George Floyd in 2020.

These changes are organized into a set of domains and are tracked city by city. The RTB Committee released the RTB Dashboard, to the Black community and respective municipalities, to acknowledge progress made and empower communities members to be apart of implementing the changes.
